Protecting tender dog paws in the winter is important. But sometimes it can be difficult to know how, or even when to do so.

Pawt4Paws is happy to help provide tips on that, as well as explain how our pet paw balm can help your better mitigate the winter months ahead!

Cold Weather & Pets: Boots vs. Balm

Paw care is a fairly new consideration for pet owners, taking shape in a variety of ways in recent years. Where once we allowed our pets to roam the earth as nature intended; now we are more cautious of where they go and how they get there.

As mentioned in a previous post

Healthy paws are incredibly important to your dog health. Paws serve many critical functions that we humans might take for granted. Paws help your dog to explore, play, run, regulate the temperature of their body, and be always on-the-go. Dog paws care is one more way to show how much you care and love your pet.

Which is where our CBD protection balm comes in to help! It is the first defence we would suggest for protecting dog paws in winter. Although boots for dogs can be an Instagramable moment; not all dogs seem to love them – even amidst the cold weather.

Dogs often thrive in their natural state of being, and if you have one such dog that prefers their attire ‘au naturel’ – we can help provide you with the best of both worlds. Paw care, and peace of mind.

Protecting Dog Paws in Winter: The Natural Way

Our CBD Protection Balm for Pets allows you to simply glide the CBD Protection Balm directly over your pet’s sensitive or exposed skin areas.

Use it on their bellies, legs, arm pits, around their ears, or any other sensitive spot.

The coconut oil, beeswax, vitamin E, and hemp seed oil, along with CBD, create an amazing all natural balm that heals and moisturizes.

In addition, we offer our Pawt4Paws Pet Skin Treatment, which is a 100% natural CBD based cream for hot spots, skin allergies, dry itchy skin, dermatitis and wounds. It is also a natural inflammatory compound that can easily relieves pain and heals wounds fast.

CBD products might be a perfect addition to your pet skin routine, especially when it comes to protecting dog paws in winter!

Paw Care: Safety Matters Too

Snowy winter walks are a great activity for pets and pet parents alike. But not every dog (and let’s be honest – not even every pet parent) is equipped with the right fur or coat closet to help ease the sting of cold weather walks.

Regardless, they are necessary for both exercise as well as mental health. So, amidst that, keeping your pet protected from the elements, and safe from chemicals found on winter sidewalks, are both important factors.

Sidewalks can be both slippery and salty, as well as have various chemicals on them that can be hard on your dog’s paw pads and harmful to their health – so prevention is key.

While many pet stores offer boots – such as Canada Pooch, which are ridiculously cute – they are not always realistic for every dog. So in the case that your dog won’t be seen donning footwear, be sure to wipe your dog’s paws off or dip them in warm water and towel dry when you return – then apply CBD protection balm.
