Digestive issues in cats can be distressing for both pets and their owners. Nausea, loss of appetite, and inflammation are common problems that can affect a cat’s overall well-being. Fortunately, CBD oil offers a natural and effective solution to these digestive woes. In this blog, we’ll explore how CBD oil can help improve your cat’s digestive health and provide relief from common gastrointestinal issues.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis, CBD does not produce a “high.” Instead, it interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in the body, which plays a crucial role in regulating various physiological processes, including digestion.

How CBD Oil Can Help with Digestive Issues

Reducing Nausea: Nausea can be caused by various factors, including motion sickness, medication side effects, or underlying health conditions. CBD oil has antiemetic properties, which means it can help reduce nausea and vomiting. By interacting with the ECS, CBD oil can regulate the release of neurotransmitters that trigger nausea, providing relief for your cat.

Stimulating Appetite: Loss of appetite is a common issue in cats, especially those dealing with illness, stress, or aging. A decreased appetite can lead to malnutrition and further health complications. CBD oil can stimulate appetite by interacting with the ECS receptors that influence hunger. This can help encourage your cat to eat more, ensuring they receive the necessary nutrients for optimal health.

Reducing Inflammation: Inflammation in the digestive tract can cause discomfort and lead to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). CBD oil has powerful anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. By reducing inflammation, CBD oil can alleviate pain and discomfort, promoting better digestive health for your cat.

Aids in Pushing Hairballs through the Digestive Tract: Our CBD oil supports a healthy digestive system, reducing the frequency and severity of hairballs. The calming effects of CBD can reduce stress, which is often a contributing factor to excessive grooming and hairball formation. Additionally, MCT (Medium-Chain Triglycerides) oil aids in digestion and helps ensure that hair moves smoothly through the digestive tract, reducing the formation of hairballs. Salmon oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which promote a healthy coat and skin, minimizing excessive shedding. Hairball impaction can be a big problem for cats, CBD will help keep that hairball rolling along the digestive tract!

Constipation Relief: Being constipated can lead to discomfort and potential severe health complications for cats. CBD helps reduce inflammation in the digestive tract, alleviate pain, and stimulate bowel movements. Together, these oils can help keep your cat’s digestive system functioning optimally and their coat in top condition, making digestive health management easier and improving your cat’s overall well-being.

Administering CBD Oil to Your Cat

When considering CBD oil for your cat’s digestive health, it’s essential to choose a high-quality product specifically designed for pets. Non-GMO and Organic CBD is what we do! Our CBD is CO2 extracted, making it Chemical and THC free so as not to cause any psychoactive effects. Here are some tips for administering CBD oil to your cat:

Typically, we recommend 1/8th of a dropper per 5lbs twice a day

10lbs: 1/4 dropper twice a day

20lbs: 1/2 dropper twice a day

*The dosage is generalized, some cats may need more or less depending on the specific issue(s) they are dealing with.

Start with a Low Dose: We have a dosage chart to help you decipher how much to give your beloved feline. Begin with a low dose of CBD oil and gradually increase it until you find the optimal amount for your cat. This helps ensure your cat responds well to the treatment and minimizes any potential side effects.

Mix with Food or Treats: Many cats are sensitive to new tastes, so mixing CBD oil with their food or treats can make it more palatable. We do have delicious salmon oil as a flavouring added to make it taste great to your cat(s).

Numerous cat owners have reported positive outcomes after using CBD oil to address their pets’ digestive issues. For example, my cat Rascal has improved his digestive health greatly with our CBD oil. My 8 year old cat always gets constipated after I bathe him because he ingests a lot of fur drying himself off. With our CBD oil, this has completely remedied the problem (and saved me a lot of money in vet bills). Now Rascal can live happy and free once more.

CBD oil offers a promising natural remedy for improving your cat’s digestive health. Its ability to reduce nausea, stimulate appetite, and alleviate inflammation makes it an excellent option for managing various gastrointestinal issues. Always choose high-quality CBD oil designed for pets. With the right approach, CBD oil can help your cat enjoy the healthier, happier life we know they deserve.
